About SgMA
In line with the Joint MND-MOM Review Committee on Construction Safety to extend safety awareness and promote safety culture in small and medium construction firms, Singapore Contractors Association Ltd (SCAL) introduced a simplified version of the OHS Management System called Safety & Green Management Assessment (SgMA) Scheme.
Under this scheme, all applicants of Singapore List of Trade Sub-contractors (SLOTS) are required to complete this scheme in order to obtain SLOTS registered contractors.
SgMA Certification Process
Stage 1
Training
SC2 conducts a One and half-day SgMA workshop (available in English and mandarin) to guide firms on how to develop and implement safety management system in worksite.
Once the system is in-placed, the company may proceed to submit the SgMA Audit Request form to SC2 to arrange for an audit.
Stage 2
Certification Audit
The objective of the SgMA audit is to confirm that the applicant firm conforms to all requirements of the SLOTS membership requirements.
During the audit, non-conformity and/or observation reports may be issued. All non-conformities shall be closed out within the specified time frame.
Stage 3
Audit Frequency
An audit will be conducted once within the 3-year certification cycle, at approximately the 18-month point, to ensure that the SLOTS-registered contractor continues to comply with the requirements of the SgMA scheme.
The SgMA Audit certificate will be issued for purpose of SLOTS renewal if the firm continued to meet the SgMA requirements.
For New SCAL member / SLOTS registrant, please ensure that you
have obtained conditional approval from SCAL
